Who is Mouthman?

There is no concrete answer for this question. Mouthman is a rumor, a myth, you may choose to believe in him, or you may not. Rumors about Mouthman first began in the fall of 1986. There were only three sightings of him that year, all in the hills near Duluth, Minnesota. All accounts of Mouthman described him as a short, translucent, large-eyed creature. Although, witnesses were generally frightened, Mouthman did no harm, he actually was described as quite timid in appearance.

The next year, 1987, there was only one spotting of Mouthman that came from a highly unreliable source and was disregarded at the time. Mouthman was considered nothing more than a trick of the light, or a hoax by officials until late summer of 1988. Mouthman sightings began in the early summer and gained in frequency through June and July. Some crimes were even reported with Mouthman as the perpetrator.

Mouthman was finally recognized by the Duluth police department on August 9th, 1988.
